I’m a “Jack of all trades” - things that I’ve made
I made several of these sets to sell at our church fundraiser craft sale in the fall of 2022. People call the large “pouch” by several names - project bags, travel bags, or just see-thru bags. The front is clear vinyl so that you can see what is inside. They are lined and the lining is quilted to the backing fabric with a soft batting in-between
The small pouch is made entirely in an embroidery hoop - the program puts in the zipper & lining and there is an open pocket on the back. A girl cannot have too many of these “carry whatever in it” pouches!! :)
I think I will make more to sell this coming year!
As the New Year started, I did not want to start a new project but I did want to sew. I have been bringing boxes of fabrics home from my mother’s that she no longer can use. So, I sewed up 15 totes. No real measurements. Some were lined and the ones using heavier home décor fabrics were not lined.
Who has enough cloth totes? Well, I have a lot :) So, I decided to donate them to our local library. The lady behind the desk gladly said yes when I first asked if they could use them. They allow patrons to take one for their books. But the young man behind the desk, when I dropped them off, said thanks but had a very quizzical look on his face. I said to tell the person in charge that I wanted to donate them!!
When I have more time to sew without thinking, I will make more!
It’s been awhile since I made something for myself :) this cute wall hanging is from a 2017 free pattern by Flamingo Toes Designs called “Spinning Spider Web. I made it back then but gave it away as a gift. I needed something “fallish/halloweenish” to hang by my door so went thru my scraps and made another for myself. It’s so easy and so darn cute that I made another in an afternoon and sent off as another gift! I may just leave it up after Halloween until I put up my Christmas decorations. :)
Here are some things that I have been working on the last few weeks. Embroidered coasters. The embroidery patterns are from the OESD Company. The tiles - or squares - can be made individually into coasters or sewed together to make pillows, totes or whatever. I’m keeping some for myself and the others? I may give them out as gifts. With the little storage pouch, they would make great hostess gifts. Invite me over!!
Adding to the Hall School Flock! I love to make these scrappy chicken casserole hot pads. Block pattern comes from Lori Holt. Maybe someday I’ll make a whole quilt of chickens and Have a “stay at home” flock!
The Hall School Flock
I’ve decided to have chickens! But not in my backyard. Too much work. So my “free range” cickens are going to roam thru out the neighborhood! All my neighbors are getting this chicken hot pad :) Along with my favorite chicken casserole recipe. SHHHH - don’t tell the chickens :)
